The Bridge - Enchanted Hustle

Ojo Santa Fe Spa Resort. Time To Exhale.

As we ramp-up for our official ENCHANTMENT WHILE BLACK launch at the upcoming NOMADNESS FEST in Newark, New Jersey (September 9-11), the Daniels Clan has been rolling non-stop for the past few weeks; part capturing “a few of our favorite things”, New Mexico style, and part savoring the last days of summer and our collective time together!

Makes total sense that before RDiiO returned to his music production grind in the ATL, our last day hanging out would be spent winding down at Ojo Santa Fe and enjoying a family meal of slamming brisket (Rudy’s BBQ -Justis’ choice)!

We honestly NEVER need a reason to visit Ojo Santa Fe or Ojo Caliente —your choice of soak, hot mineral springs or mud—and look forward to sharing this DIVINE, luxury time-out with our Enchanted guests this coming spring.

Still not convinced? You know the drill, let the images speak for themselves . . .

Pueblo Loop Trail I

Bandelier. Standing On Sacred Ground.

There is always a breathtaking, surreal and spirit humbling experience waiting for you in the High Desert and today’s exploration of Bandelier National Monument was no exception.

Tyuonyi Village :|: Ancestral Pueblo People

The excavated Village of Tyuonyi was once home to many Ancestral Pueblo people. Excavated in the early 1900s, most of the pueblo structures of volcanic tuff date between 1150 CE and 1600 CE. With 3000+ Archaeological sites surveyed, the Tyuonyi community was constructed on the floor of Frijoles Canyon at the base of nearby cliff dwellings.

As we walked near the Big Kiva, inside the West rim of the circular plaza, I could not ignore my Spirit’s prompt to offer prayers of gratitude to the Ancestors of this beautiful land.

I choked up thinking how blessed I am to share these experiences with my children; reflecting on how much my adventure traveling Maternal Grandparents Willie C. and Fannie Barwick, would have adored EVERYTHING about today’s family trip.

We took our time walking and laughing along the Pueblo Loop Trail and climbed ladders to experience a few of the amazing cavates (cave dwellings) firsthand.

We are truly lucky. Our home (just 10 miles east) is nestled between sacred Bandelier and Tsankawi, her sister-site down the road and on our list to hike this summer. I am eager to see Tsankawi’s Petroglyphs.

On the next visit to Bandelier, I plan to roam a bit farther (made it to marker #14 today) to explore the Alcove House, Long House and one day soon to conquer the 3-mile Upper Falls Trail.

Paseo Pottery - Santa Fe

Paseo Pottery. Get Your Hands Dirty.

It takes a Village. Partnerships with local community generates more than “good karma”. We are the first to acknowledge we hold space on Sacred land belonging rightfully to the Indigenous Pueblo people of this Region; we are guests here. Honoring the land, culture, history and people in our community is ESSENTIAL to living and thriving in the Land of Enchantment.

Simply put, when ENCHANTMENT WHILE BLACK has a resource need, we seek to source and supply it here at home first.

I’ve been seeking a gifted pottery partner for a minute now to collaborate with on an EWB project we’ve talked about for a LONG, LONG time. When ‘luck’ blessed me to discover Paseo Pottery in Santa Fe, I had a feeling this was gonna be really GOOOOOD!

Christopher Southward and Angela Smith Kirkman welcomed us in with open arms and much-needed input on how to make our EWB clay dreams come true!

As we head to the Gallery today to get our hands dirty, taking our FIRST pottery class guided by Christopher, we’re excited to experience a taste of what these Clay Artisans do and to work with them on bringing more GOALDIGGERS to Enchantment.

On this Enchanted journey you gotta get your hands dirty,

Betterday Vintage - Santa Fe

Betterday Vintage Is It.

When (1) sweet vintage [and incredibly friendly] shop can keep all 4 DANIELS entertained (even the sole Daniels who doesn’t enjoy shopping – uh, Luckie) it is a very, VERY special place!

Owner / Buyer Virginia and team, have a keen eye for sourcing a BROAD range of unique, vintage goodies and creating a welcoming space where they all flow comfortably together.

The staff’s warmth and popping Soul Music alone (they had me at Rufus featuring Chaka Khan) encourages you slow down and take your time discovering far too many gems to count.
